Guilhem IX Pos de chantar m´es pres talenz

William (or Guilhem) IX, Duke of Aquitaine (1071-1127) is the first known troubadour. Most of his life was spent in warfare, including an unsuccessful crusade to the Holy Land in 1101-02. He is the first poet in the southeastern region of France with only eleven of his poems survive, but without music except for one incomplete melody.

Pos de chantar m'es pres talentzEdit

Like all troubadour songs, the secular text of Pos de chantar m'es pres talentz (As the desire to sing takes hold of me) would consist of an unharmonized melody sung monophonicly.
