A remarkable work of art! Kevin Puts won the Pulitzer Prize for his first opera Silent Night, and there is no doubt in my mind that this piece is worthy of that same honor as well. The work was commissioned by the Miró Quartet in 2005, and it was intended to be a reflection upon the optimistic side of the U.S.A and its people.
Enjoy! (Oh, and listen for some famous violin quotations in the first movement.)
